The Payment
Highway
In the light of our experience in these projects, we have carried
our ‘Payment Highway’ methodology a step further.
The company developed a package that guides financial institutions
through RTGS implementation. We describe this package as our
‘Concept to Reality’ (CTR) model and it consists
of three interlocking elements: |
| |
- A series of template documents which can be used by our
consultancy teams and clients. The ‘templates’
are based on documents that have been deployed in other
similar assignments. These have all been updated to conform
to our ‘Payment Highway’ principles. The documents
are used to develop Request for Proposal, Business Requirements,
Implementation Guidelines etc.
- Workshop and formal ‘classroom’ sessions
provide an effective skill/knowledge transfer program. The
program addresses the financial institutions in each area
likely to be affected by the implementation of RTGS facilities.
The sessions also address the bank at executive, management
and officer levels.
- Consultants who are skilled in the areas of payments,
risk and liquidity management, technology, supervision,
financial accounting and security. The EPayCom consultants
employed on our ‘Concept to Reality’ program
all have appropriate practical experience.

Conclusion
We believe that our consultancy company is unique in being entirely
focused on payment systems. The work we have done in the area
of high value payment systems has allowed us to develop our
‘Concept to Reality’ program which is a formal method
of developing RTGS initiatives in a structured manner.
The method incorporates much of our experience in other RTGS
projects and eliminates the costly reinvention of wheel activity
common in these projects. As a result, the quality of our advice
is guaranteed and real cost savings are achieved. EPayCom are
committed to the ongoing development of all aspects of the CTR
program as well as all other aspects of the Payment Highway. |
